About Me
Hi, I’m Lara.
I’ve always cared about my health and the environment, and after more than 10 years working in community health, that mindset naturally became part of how I live day to day.
As I’m moving into midlife, I’m becoming more conscious of my health, but also more focused on keeping things realistic and sustainable.
My interest in microplastics started from an environmental perspective. I was paying more attention to plastic use and waste, and over time became more aware of the potential health impacts as well.
What really stood out was how overwhelming it felt. Once I noticed how much plastic was around me, I started seeing it everywhere and didn’t know where to begin.
I decided to take a slower, more practical approach, focusing on small changes, finding better alternatives, and building from there.
I’m naturally organised and goal oriented, so I created my own way of working through it step by step, focusing on what felt manageable rather than trying to change everything at once.
I also enjoy finding creative, sustainable solutions. A few years ago I started making crochet dishcloths for family and friends as a simple way to reduce waste, and that same mindset still carries through into how I approach things today.
These days, I enjoy talking to others about how they can create a healthier home in a way that feels realistic and achievable.
